IFRTD to hold annual Executive Committee meeting in London
2006-11-03
Preparations are well under way for this year’s Executive Committee meeting which will be held 27th-29th November in London. The annual meeting is the cornerstone of IFRTD’s participative governance structure where the Secretariat are accountable to representatives from the wider network. Donors, National Forum Groups, Communities of Practice, partners and institutional members will all be attending the 3 day meeting alongside the London Secretariat and the regional coordinators from East and Southern Africa, Central and West Africa, Latin America and Asia. It is an important opportunity for regional members of the network not only to feed into the international work programmes but also to learn from and support each others work.
This year will see a special focus on IFRTD’s new 5-year strategy. Having been developed over the past year through an extensive consultation with the network it will be officially endorsed by the Executive Committee and will help guide the work of the Forum for the next strategic cycle – 2006-2011. There will also be a day devoted to organisational learning. This is a chance for knowledge sharing and networking as participants will hear and discuss not just activities within IFRTD but more widely from our partners in the transport and development sector.
