As IFRTD is making progress towards its independence from current host Practical Action, the newly elected Board of Directors met to agree upon operational principles following the adoption of the new governance structure. From the 25th to the 27th of February the Board, consisting of Danang Parikesit (Chairperson and Asia representative), Nite Tanzarn (East and Southern Africa representative), Sirpe Gnanderman (Central and West Africa representative), Roberto Aguerrebere (Latin America representative) and Roma Thomas (Uk-member and treasurer), met to adopt a new financial and HR policy, the Business Plan 2009-2011 and to carry out a risk assessment on IFRTD. The board also signed many forms to set up IFRTD as a company limited by guarantee seeking charitable status and, after 17 years of functioning as an unincorporated association it is with great pleasure that the board is announcing the birth of IFRTD as a company based in England under registration number 6835743.
The full Business Plan and an abridged version of the minutes will soon be available online.
